1 Chronicles 25

David and the army commanders set apart for service the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, who prophesied with lyres, harps, and cymbals. This is the list of the men who performed their assigned service: From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah. These sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the king’s direction. From Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun were Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the lyre, giving thanks and praise to the LORD. From Heman: the sons of Heman were Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth. All these were sons of Heman, the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. All these were under their fathers’ direction for music in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king’s direction. They and their relatives who were trained in singing to the LORD, all of them skilled, numbered 288. They cast lots for their duties, small and great alike, skilled musician and student together. The first lot fell to Joseph of Asaph’s family; the second to Gedaliah, who, with his relatives and sons, numbered twelve. The third to Zaccur, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the fourth to Izri, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the fifth to Nethaniah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the sixth to Bukkiah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the seventh to Jesharelah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the eighth to Jeshaiah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the ninth to Mattaniah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the tenth to Shimei, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the eleventh to Azarel, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the twelfth to Hashabiah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the thirteenth to Shubael, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the fourteenth to Mattithiah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the fifteenth to Jeremoth, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the sixteenth to Hananiah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the eighteenth to Hanani, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the nineteenth to Mallothi, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the twentieth to Eliathah, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the twenty-first to Hothir, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the twenty-second to Giddalti, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; the twenty-third to Mahazioth, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all; and the twenty-fourth to Romamti-ezer, with his sons and relatives, twelve in all.
