Deuteronomy 33
BTNT-2026-11-04
“The LORD came from Sinai and dawned on them from Seir.
He shone from Mount Paran and came from tens of thousands of holy ones;
from his right hand came a fiery law for them. Indeed, he loves the peoples;
all his holy ones are in your hand.
They bow at your feet;
each receives your words. Moses commanded us the law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob. He was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people gathered, the tribes of Israel together. Let Reuben live and not die, though his men are few.” This was for Judah, and he said, “Hear, O LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people.
His hands contended for him;
be his help against his adversaries.” Of Levi he said, “Let your Thummim and your Urim be for your faithful man, whom you tested at Massah and with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah, the one who said of his father and mother, ‘I have not seen him,’ who did not acknowledge his brothers or know his sons, for they have kept your word and guard your covenant. They shall teach your judgments to Jacob and your law to Israel.
They shall put incense before your nostrils and a whole burnt offering on your altar. Bless his strength, O LORD, and accept the work of his hands.
Crush the loins of those who rise against him and of those who hate him, so that they do not rise again.” Of Benjamin he said, “The beloved of the LORD shall dwell securely beside him;
he covers him all day, and between his shoulders he dwells.” Of Joseph he said, “Blessed by the LORD be his land, with the bounty of heaven, with the dew and with the deep lying beneath, with the bounty of the sun’s produce and with the bounty of the moons’ yield, with the finest of the ancient mountains and with the bounty of the everlasting hills, with the bounty of the earth and its fullness, and with the favor of the one who dwelt in the bush.
Let it come on Joseph’s head, on the crown of the one set apart from his brothers. His is the majesty of a firstborn bull;
his horns are the horns of a wild ox.
With them he shall gore the peoples together to the ends of the earth.
They are the tens of thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.” Of Zebulun he said, “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and Issachar, in your tents. They shall call peoples to the mountain;
there they shall offer sacrifices of righteousness, for they shall suck the abundance of the seas and the hidden treasures of the sand.” Of Gad he said, “Blessed is the one who enlarges Gad.
He dwells like a lion and tears the arm, even the crown of the head. He chose the first portion for himself, for there the lawgiver’s portion was reserved.
He came with the heads of the people;
he executed the righteousness of the LORD and his judgments with Israel.” Of Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s cub that leaps from Bashan.” Of Naphtali he said, “Naphtali, satisfied with favor and full of the blessing of the LORD, take possession of the west and the south.” Of Asher he said, “Let Asher be most blessed of sons;
let him be favored by his brothers and dip his foot in oil. Your bolts shall be iron and bronze, and as your days, so shall your strength be.” “There is none like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to your help and the skies in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
He drove out the enemy before you and said, ‘Destroy.’ Israel shall dwell securely, alone, the spring of Jacob, in a land of grain and new wine;
his heavens also shall drip dew. Happy are you, O Israel!
Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help and the sword of your triumph?
Your enemies shall feign submission to you, and you shall tread on their heights.”
