Ezekiel 38

The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. Say: This is what the Lord GOD says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and bring you out with your whole army: horses and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great assembly with large and small shields, all wielding swords. Persia, Cush, and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets; Gomer with all its troops, and the house of Togarmah from the farthest north with all its troops—many peoples will be with you. Prepare yourself and be ready, you and your whole assembly gathered around you, and be a guard for them. After many days you will be summoned. In the latter years you will come to a land restored from the sword, whose people have been gathered from many peoples, to the mountains of Israel that had long been a wasteland. Its people have been brought out from the peoples, and all of them live securely. You will advance, coming like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops and many peoples with you. This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day thoughts will arise in your heart, and you will devise an evil plan. You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages. I will attack peaceful people who live securely, all living without walls and having neither bars nor gates.’ You will do this to take spoil and seize plunder, to turn your hand against inhabited ruins and against a people gathered from the nations, acquiring livestock and property, who live at the center of the earth. Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and all its young lions, will say to you, ‘Have you come to take spoil? Have you gathered your assembly to seize plunder, to carry off silver and gold, to take livestock and property, to take great spoil?’ Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, when my people Israel live securely, will you not know it? You will come from your place in the farthest north, you and many peoples with you, all riding horses, a great assembly and a mighty army. You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. This will happen in the latter days. I will bring you against my land so that the nations may know me when I show my holiness through you before their eyes, Gog. This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you the one I spoke of in former days through my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for years that I would bring you against them? On that day, the day Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my fury will flare up. In my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath I have spoken: Surely on that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, every creeping thing that creeps on the ground, and every human being on the face of the earth will tremble before me. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground. I will summon a sword against him throughout all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Each man's sword will be against his brother. I will enter into judgment with him through pestilence and bloodshed. I will rain torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples with him. I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
