Ezekiel 42

BTNT-2026-11-04

Then he led me out into the outer court toward the north and brought me to the room facing the separate area and the building on the north. Along the front of its length of about one hundred seventy-five feet was the north entrance. Its width was about eighty-seven and a half feet. Facing the space of about thirty-five feet belonging to the inner court and facing the pavement of the outer court were galleries opposite galleries in three stories. In front of the rooms was a walkway about seventeen and a half feet wide toward the inside, and a passage of about twenty-one inches. Their entrances faced north. The upper rooms were shorter, because the galleries took more space from them than from the lower and middle rooms of the building. They were in three stories and had no columns like the columns of the courts. So the upper rooms were set back from the lower and middle rooms, starting from the ground. The outer wall opposite the rooms, toward the outer court and in front of the rooms, was about eighty-seven and a half feet long. For the rooms facing the outer court were about eighty-seven and a half feet long, while those facing the main hall were about one hundred seventy-five feet long. Beneath these rooms was the entrance on the east, as one entered them from the outer court. Along the width of the court wall toward the east, facing the separate area and the building, were rooms. There was a walkway in front of them. They were like the rooms facing north, with the same length and width, the same exits, arrangement, and entrances. An entrance like those of the rooms facing south was at the head of the walkway, the walkway in front of the corresponding wall toward the east, as one entered them. He said to me, “The north rooms and the south rooms facing the separate area are the holy rooms where the priests who draw near to the LORD will eat the most holy things. There they will put the most holy things: the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering, for the place is holy. When the priests enter, they must not go out from the holy place into the outer court without leaving there the garments in which they minister, for these are holy. They must put on other garments before approaching the places belonging to the people.” When he had finished measuring the inner temple, he led me out through the gateway facing east and measured it all around. He measured the east side with the measuring rod: five hundred rods, about five thousand two hundred fifty feet, measured with the measuring rod along that side. He measured the north side: about five thousand two hundred fifty feet, measured with the measuring rod along that side. He measured the south side: about five thousand two hundred fifty feet with the measuring rod. He turned to the west side and measured about five thousand two hundred fifty feet with the measuring rod. He measured it on its four sides. It had a wall all around, about five thousand two hundred fifty feet long and five thousand two hundred fifty feet wide, to separate the holy from the common.
