Ezekiel 48

BTNT-2026-11-04

“These are the names of the tribes: From the northern end, along the way of Hethlon to the entrance to Hamath, to Hazar-enan on the boundary of Damascus, northward beside Hamath, extending from the east side to the west, Dan shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Dan, from the east side to the west side, Asher shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Asher, from the east side to the west side, Naphtali shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, Manasseh shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, Ephraim shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Ephraim, from the east side to the west side, Reuben shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, Judah shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the portion you set apart, about eight and a third miles wide. Its length shall be like one of the other portions, from the east side to the west side, and the sanctuary shall be in its midst. The portion you set apart for the LORD shall be about eight and a third miles long and three and a third miles wide. This holy portion shall be for the priests: on the north, about eight and a third miles; on the west, about three and a third miles wide; on the east, about three and a third miles wide; and on the south, about eight and a third miles long. The sanctuary of the LORD shall be in its midst. It shall be for the consecrated priests from the sons of Zadok, who kept my charge and did not go astray when the people of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray. They shall have a most holy portion from the land set apart, beside the boundary of the Levites. Alongside the boundary of the priests, the Levites shall have about eight and a third miles in length and three and a third miles in width. The entire length shall be about eight and a third miles, and the width about three and a third miles. They shall not sell any of it; no one shall exchange or transfer the best of the land, for it is holy to the LORD. The remaining strip, about one and two-thirds miles wide along the eight and a third miles, shall be for the city's common use, for homes and open land. The city shall be in its midst. These shall be its measurements: the north side, about a mile and a half; the south side, about a mile and a half; the east side, about a mile and a half; and the west side, about a mile and a half. The city shall have open land: on the north, about four hundred forty feet; on the south, about four hundred forty feet; on the east, about four hundred forty feet; and on the west, about four hundred forty feet. What remains in length alongside the holy portion shall be about three and a third miles eastward and three and a third miles westward. It shall lie alongside the holy portion, and its produce shall be food for the city's workers. The city's workers, from all the tribes of Israel, shall work it. The entire portion shall be about eight and a third miles by eight and a third miles. You shall set apart the holy portion as a square, together with the city's possession. The remainder shall belong to the prince on either side of the holy portion and the city's possession: along the portion's side of about eight and a third miles to the eastern boundary, and westward along its side of about eight and a third miles to the western boundary. Corresponding to the portions, this shall belong to the prince. The holy portion and the sanctuary of the temple shall be in its midst. Apart from the Levites' possession and the city's possession, which lie in the midst of what belongs to the prince, what lies between the boundary of Judah and the boundary of Benjamin shall belong to the prince. As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side to the west side, Benjamin shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad shall have one portion. Beside the boundary of Gad on the south side, southward, the boundary shall run from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-kadesh, then to the brook and on to the Great Sea. This is the land you shall allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions, declares the Lord GOD. These shall be the exits of the city. The north side shall measure about a mile and a half. The city gates shall bear the names of the tribes of Israel. There shall be three gates on the north: one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, and one gate of Levi. On the east side, about a mile and a half, there shall be three gates: one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, and one gate of Dan. On the south side, measuring about a mile and a half, there shall be three gates: one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, and one gate of Zebulun. On the west side, about a mile and a half, there shall be three gates: one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, and one gate of Naphtali. Its circumference shall be about six miles. And from that day the name of the city shall be ‘The LORD Is There.’”
