Hosea 6
BTNT-2026-11-04
For he has torn us, but he will heal us;
he has struck us, but he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know;
let us press on to know the LORD.
His coming forth is as certain as the dawn.
He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.” “What shall I do with you, Ephraim?
What shall I do with you, Judah?
Your steadfast love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that vanishes early. Therefore I have cut them down through the prophets;
I have killed them with the words of my mouth.
Judgments against you go forth like light. For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. But like Adam they transgressed the covenant;
there they dealt faithlessly with me. Gilead is a city of evildoers, marked with bloody footprints. As bands of robbers lie in wait for a man, so a band of priests murders on the road to Shechem.
Surely they have committed outrage. In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing: Ephraim’s prostitution is there;
Israel is defiled. For you also, Judah, a harvest has been appointed, when I restore the fortunes of my people.”
