Job 12

Then Job answered: “Surely you are the people, and wisdom will die with you! I too have understanding like you;
I am not inferior to you.
Who does not know such things as these? I have become a laughingstock to my friend—I, who called on God and whom he answered.
The righteous and blameless man is a laughingstock! Contempt for calamity is in the thoughts of one at ease;
it is ready for those whose feet slip. The tents of plunderers are at peace, and safety belongs to those who provoke God, to the one who carries his god in his hand. But ask, please, the animals, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you. Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you;
the fish of the sea will tell you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all human flesh. Does not the ear test words as the palate tastes food? Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding with length of days. With him are wisdom and might;
counsel and understanding are his. Look, if he tears down, it cannot be rebuilt;
if he shuts a man in, there can be no opening. Look, if he holds back the waters, they dry up;
if he sends them out, they overturn the earth. With him are strength and sound wisdom;
the one led astray and the one who leads astray are his. He leads counselors away stripped and makes fools of judges. He loosens the bonds of kings and fastens a belt around their waists. He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the mighty. He removes speech from the trusted and takes away the discernment of the aged. He pours contempt on nobles and loosens the belt of the strong. He uncovers deep things out of darkness and brings the shadow of death into the light. He makes nations great and destroys them;
he spreads nations out and leads them. He takes away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth and makes them wander in a pathless waste. They grope in darkness without light, and he makes them stagger like a drunken man.
