Job 8
BTNT-2026-11-04
The words of your mouth are a mighty wind. Does God pervert justice?
Does the Almighty pervert what is right? If your children sinned against him, he handed them over to the power of their transgression. If you earnestly seek God and plead with the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, surely he will rouse himself for you and restore your righteous dwelling. Though your beginning was small, your future will grow very great. For ask, please, the former generation, and give attention to what their ancestors discovered. For we are of yesterday and know nothing;
our days on earth are a shadow. Will they not teach you and speak to you, bringing forth words from their hearts? Can papyrus grow tall without a marsh?
Can reeds flourish without water? While still in its freshness, not yet cut, it withers before any grass. Such are the paths of all who forget God;
the hope of the godless will perish. His confidence snaps, and his trust is a spider's house. He leans on his house, but it does not stand;
he clings to it, but it does not hold up. He is full of sap in the sun, and his shoots spread over his garden. His roots wind around a heap of stones;
he looks upon a house of stones. If he is torn from his place, it will deny him, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’ Look, such is the joy of his way!
And from the dust others will spring up. Look, God will not reject a blameless man, nor will he take evildoers by the hand, until he fills your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
