The LORD spoke to Moses and said,“This is the law for the person with skin disease on the day of his cleansing: he must be brought to the priest. The priest shall go outside the camp and examine him. If the lesion of skin disease has healed in the affected person, the priest shall order two live, clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to be taken for the person being cleansed. The priest shall order one of the birds to be slaughtered over an earthenware vessel containing spring water. He shall take the live bird, the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn, and the hyssop, and dip them, along with the live bird, in the blood of the bird slaughtered over the spring water. He shall sprinkle the person being cleansed from skin disease seven times, declare him clean, and release the live bird into the open field. The person being cleansed must wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe in water; then he shall be clean. Afterward he may enter the camp, but he must stay outside his tent for seven days.On the seventh day he must shave off all his hair—his head, his beard, and his eyebrows. He must shave off all his hair, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in water; then he shall be clean. On the eighth day he must take two male lambs without blemish, one year-old ewe lamb without blemish, three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, about six quarts, for a grain offering mixed with oil, and one log of oil, about a cup.The priest who performs the cleansing shall present the man being cleansed and these offerings before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. The priest shall take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of oil. He shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.He shall slaughter the lamb in the place where the sin offering and the burnt offering are slaughtered, in the holy place. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest; it is most holy. The priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest shall put it on the right earlobe of the person being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. The priest shall take some of the log of oil and pour it into the palm of the priest's left hand. The priest shall dip a finger of his right hand in the oil in his left palm and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the LORD.From the oil remaining in his palm, the priest shall put some on the right earlobe of the person being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, over the blood of the guilt offering. He shall put the oil remaining in the priest's palm on the head of the person being cleansed. The priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD.The priest shall offer the sin offering and make atonement for the person being cleansed from his uncleanness. Afterward he shall slaughter the burnt offering. The priest shall offer the burnt offering and the grain offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean. But if he is poor and cannot afford this, he must take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour, about two quarts, mixed with oil for a grain offering, and a log of oil, about a cup,and two turtledoves or two young pigeons, as he can afford. One shall be a sin offering and the other a burnt offering. On the eighth day he must bring them for his cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, before the LORD.The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.He shall slaughter the lamb for the guilt offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the person being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of the priest's left hand. With a finger of his right hand, the priest shall sprinkle some of the oil in his left palm seven times before the LORD.The priest shall put some of the oil in his palm on the right earlobe of the person being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the guilt offering. He shall put the oil remaining in the priest's palm on the head of the person being cleansed, to make atonement for him before the LORD.He shall offer one of the turtledoves or young pigeons he can afford, whatever he can afford, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, along with the grain offering. The priest shall make atonement for the person being cleansed before the LORD.This is the law for someone with a lesion of skin disease who cannot afford what is required for his cleansing.”The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and said,“When you enter the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as a possession, and I put a patch of mold in a house in the land you possess, the owner of the house must come and tell the priest, ‘I have seen what looks like a patch in the house.’The priest shall order the house emptied before the priest goes in to examine the patch, so that nothing in the house becomes unclean. Afterward the priest shall go in to examine the house. He shall examine the patch. If the patch on the walls of the house has greenish or reddish hollows that appear lower than the surface of the wall, the priest shall go out of the house to its entrance and shut up the house for seven days.On the seventh day the priest shall return and examine it. If the patch has spread on the walls of the house, the priest shall order them to remove the stones that have the patch and throw them outside the city into an unclean place. He shall have the inside of the house scraped all around, and they shall dump the plaster they have scraped off outside the city into an unclean place. They shall take other stones and put them in place of those stones. He shall take new plaster and plaster the house. But if the patch returns and breaks out in the house after the stones have been removed, the house has been scraped, and it has been plastered, the priest shall come and examine it. If the patch has spread in the house, it is destructive mold in the house; it is unclean. He shall tear down the house—its stones, its timber, and all its plaster—and carry them outside the city into an unclean place.Whoever enters the house during the time it is shut up shall be unclean until evening.Whoever lies down in the house must wash his clothes, and whoever eats in the house must wash his clothes. But if the priest comes and examines it and the patch has not spread in the house after it was plastered, the priest shall declare the house clean, for the patch has healed. He shall take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn, and hyssop to purify the house. He shall slaughter one of the birds over an earthenware vessel containing spring water. He shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and in the spring water, and sprinkle the house seven times. He shall purify the house with the bird's blood, the spring water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.He shall release the live bird outside the city into the open field. He shall make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean. This is the law concerning every lesion of skin disease and every scaly eruption, mold in a garment or a house,a swelling, a rash, and a bright spot,to teach when something is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law concerning skin disease and mold.”
