Numbers 15

BTNT-2026-11-04

The LORD spoke to Moses and said, “Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you enter the land where you are to dwell, which I am giving you, and present an offering by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a special vow, as a freewill offering, or at your appointed times, to make a pleasing aroma to the LORD from the herd or the flock, the one presenting his offering to the LORD shall bring a grain offering of about two quarts of fine flour mixed with about a quart of oil. You shall prepare about a quart of wine as a drink offering with the burnt offering or the sacrifice, for each lamb. Or for a ram, prepare a grain offering of about four quarts of fine flour mixed with about a third of a gallon of oil. You shall present about a third of a gallon of wine as a drink offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. When you prepare a young bull as a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a special vow, or as a peace offering to the LORD, bring with the young bull a grain offering of about six quarts of fine flour mixed with about two quarts of oil. You shall present about two quarts of wine as a drink offering, an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. Thus it shall be done for each ox, each ram, and each animal from the sheep or goats. According to the number you prepare, so you shall do for each one, according to their number. Every native shall do these things in this way when presenting an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. If a foreigner resides with you, or anyone is among you throughout your generations, and presents an offering by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD, he shall do as you do. For the assembly there shall be one statute for you and for the foreigner residing with you, a perpetual statute throughout your generations. As you are, so shall the foreigner be before the LORD. One law and one ordinance shall be for you and for the foreigner residing with you.’” The LORD spoke to Moses and said, “Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you enter the land to which I am bringing you, and eat the bread of the land, you shall raise a raised offering to the LORD. From the first of your dough you shall raise a cake as a raised offering; as the raised offering of the threshing floor, so you shall raise it. From the first of your dough you shall give a raised offering to the LORD throughout your generations. If you err unintentionally and do not carry out all these commandments that the LORD has spoken to Moses, all that the LORD has commanded you through Moses, from the day the LORD commanded and onward throughout your generations, if it was done unintentionally without the congregation's knowledge, the whole congregation shall offer one young bull as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD, with its grain offering and drink offering according to the ordinance, and one male goat as a sin offering. The priest shall make atonement for the whole congregation of the Israelites, and they shall be forgiven, for it was unintentional, and they have brought their offering, an offering by fire to the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD for their unintentional error. The whole congregation of the Israelites and the foreigner residing among them shall be forgiven, because it was unintentional for all the people. If one person sins unintentionally, he shall present a year-old female goat as a sin offering. The priest shall make atonement before the LORD for the person who erred by sinning unintentionally, to make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven. You shall have one law for the one who acts unintentionally, both for the native among the Israelites and for the foreigner residing among them. But the person who acts with a high hand, whether native or foreigner, reviles the LORD. That person shall be cut off from among his people. Because he has despised the word of the LORD and broken his commandment, that person shall certainly be cut off; his iniquity remains on him.’” While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who found him gathering wood brought him before Moses, Aaron, and the whole congregation. They put him in custody, because it had not been specified what should be done to him. The LORD said to Moses, “The man must certainly be put to death. The whole congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” The whole congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died, as the LORD had commanded Moses. The LORD spoke to Moses and said, “Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘You shall make tassels for yourselves on the corners of your garments throughout your generations, and put a blue cord on the tassel at each corner. It shall be a tassel for you, so that you may look at it, remember all the LORD's commandments, and carry them out, and not seek after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you prostitute yourselves. So you shall remember and carry out all my commandments and be holy to your God. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD your God.’”
