Psalm 62

For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold;
I will not be greatly shaken. How long will you assault a man, all of you battering him down like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? They plan only to thrust him down from his high place;
they delight in falsehood.
With their mouth they bless, but inwardly they curse. Selah. Wait in silence for God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold;
I will not be shaken. My salvation and my glory rest on God;
my strong rock and my refuge are in God. Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your heart before him.
God is our refuge. Selah. Common people are only a breath, nobles a lie;
in the scales they rise, together lighter than a breath. Do not trust in extortion or set vain hopes on robbery;
if wealth increases, do not set your heart on it. Once God has spoken;
twice I have heard this: power belongs to God, and to you, Lord, belongs steadfast love, for you repay each person according to his work.
