Psalm 7

LORD my God, in you I take refuge;
save me from all who pursue me, and deliver me, lest one tear me apart like a lion, ripping me to pieces with no one to rescue me. LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice in my hands, if I have repaid with evil one who was at peace with me, or plundered my foe without cause, let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;
let him trample my life to the ground and lay my honor in the dust. Selah. Rise up, LORD, in your anger;
rise against the fury of my foes.
Awake on my behalf;
you have decreed judgment. Let the assembly of peoples surround you;
return on high above it. The LORD judges the peoples.
Judge me, LORD, according to my righteousness and the integrity within me. Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and establish the righteous, you who test hearts and deepest thoughts, righteous God. My shield rests with God, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, a God who is indignant every day. If a man does not turn back, God will sharpen his sword;
he has bent his bow and made it ready. He has prepared deadly weapons for him;
he makes his arrows fiery shafts. Look, the wicked man is in labor with evil;
he conceives trouble and gives birth to falsehood. He digs a pit and hollows it out, then falls into the hole he has made. The trouble he causes returns on his own head;
his violence comes down on his own crown. I will thank the LORD for his righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
