Psalm 77

BTNT-2026-11-04

I cry aloud to God;
aloud to God, and he listens to me.
In the day of my distress I sought the Lord.
My hand was stretched out through the night without growing weary;
my soul refused to be comforted.
I remember God and groan;
I meditate, and my spirit grows faint. Selah.
You hold my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
I consider the days of old, the years long past. I remember my song in the night;
I meditate in my heart, and my spirit searches:
“Will the Lord reject us forever?
Will he never show favor again?
Has his steadfast love ceased forever?
Has his promise come to an end for all generations?
Has God forgotten to be gracious?
Has he shut up his compassion in anger?” Selah.
Then I said, “This is my grief: the changing of the right hand of the Most High.” I will remember the deeds of the LORD;
yes, I will remember your wonders of old.
I will meditate on all your work and ponder your deeds. God, your way is holy.
What god is as great as God?
You are the God who works wonders;
you have made your strength known among the peoples.
With your arm you redeemed your people, the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The waters saw you, God;
the waters saw you and writhed;
even the depths trembled.
The clouds poured out water;
the skies gave voice, and your arrows sped about.
Your thunder sounded in the whirlwind;
lightning lit up the world;
the earth trembled and shook.
Your way was through the sea, your path through the mighty waters, yet your footprints were not known. You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
