Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are who judge. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, because you who judge practice the same things. We know that God’s judgment against those who practice such things is according to truth.Do you suppose, you who judge those who practice such things and do them yourself, that you will escape God’s judgment?Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? But because of your hardness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed. He will repay each person according to their works:eternal life to those who, by perseverance in doing good, seek glory, honor, and immortality, but wrath and fury to those who are selfishly ambitious and disobey the truth while obeying unrighteousness. There will be affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, for the Jew first and also for the Greek, but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For God shows no partiality. For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law(for it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. For when Gentiles who do not have the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience bears witness and their thoughts accuse or even defend them)on the day when, according to my gospel, God judges people’s secrets through Christ Jesus. But if you call yourself a Jew, rely on the law, and boast in God,and know his will and approve what is excellent because you have been instructed from the law,and are confident that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness,an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants, having in the law the expression of knowledge and truth, then you who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? You who say not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? For, as it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”For circumcision is of value if you practice the law. But if you are a lawbreaker, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. So if an uncircumcised person keeps the law’s requirements, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? And the one who is physically uncircumcised but fulfills the law will judge you who, despite having the written code and circumcision, break the law.For a person is not a Jew merely outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward in the flesh.Rather, a person is a Jew inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart, in the Spirit, not the written code. That person’s praise comes from God, not from people.
