Zechariah 13

BTNT-2026-11-04

On that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity. “On that day,” declares the LORD of hosts, “I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land. If anyone still prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, ‘You must not live, for you have spoken lies in the name of the LORD.’ His father and mother who bore him will pierce him through when he prophesies. On that day the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies. They will no longer wear a hairy cloak in order to deceive. Instead he will say, ‘I am not a prophet. I am a man who works the ground, for someone made me a slave in my youth.’ If someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ he will answer, ‘The wounds I received in the house of those who love me.’ Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is my companion,” declares the LORD of hosts.
“Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.
I will turn my hand against the little ones.
In all the land,” declares the LORD, “two-thirds will be cut off and die, but one-third will remain in it. I will bring that third through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.
They will call on my name, and I will answer them.
I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is my God.’”
