Isaiah 18

BTNT-2026-11-04

Ah, land of whirring wings, beyond the rivers of Cush, which sends envoys by sea, in papyrus vessels over the waters!
Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth-skinned, to a people feared far and wide, a mighty and conquering nation whose land the rivers cut through.
All you inhabitants of the world and dwellers on the earth, when a banner is raised on the mountains, look;
when a trumpet is blown, listen.
For thus the LORD said to me, “I will be still and watch from my dwelling place, like clear heat in sunlight, like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.” For before the harvest, when the blossom is over and the flower becomes a ripening grape, he will cut off the shoots with pruning hooks and remove and cut away the spreading branches. They will be left together for the birds of prey of the mountains and for the beasts of the earth.
The birds of prey will spend the summer on them, and all the beasts of the earth will spend the winter on them.
At that time a gift will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth-skinned, from a people feared far and wide, a mighty and conquering nation whose land the rivers cut through, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, Mount Zion.
