Isaiah 2

BTNT-2026-11-04

The word that Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. In the latter days the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established as the highest of the mountains and lifted above the hills, and all nations shall stream to it. Many peoples shall come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”
For instruction shall go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations and settle disputes for many peoples.
They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.
House of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD. For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are full of eastern ways and practice divination like the Philistines;
they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
Their land is full of silver and gold, with no end to their treasures;
their land is full of horses, with no end to their chariots.
Their land is full of idols;
they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.
Humanity is brought low, and men are humbled;
do not forgive them.
Enter the rock and hide in the dust from the terror of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty. The haughty eyes of man shall be lowered, and the pride of men brought low;
the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
For the LORD of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low; against all the cedars of Lebanon, high and lifted up, and against all the oaks of Bashan; against all the high mountains and against all the lofty hills; against every high tower and against every fortified wall; against all the ships of Tarshish and against all the splendid vessels. The haughtiness of man shall be brought low, and the pride of men humbled;
the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
The idols shall pass away completely. People shall enter the caves of the rocks and the holes in the ground, from the terror of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to make the earth tremble. In that day a man shall cast away to the moles and the bats his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made for him to worship, to enter the clefts of the rocks and the crevices of the cliffs, from the terror of the LORD and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to make the earth tremble. Turn away from man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for of what account is he?
