Isaiah 32

BTNT-2026-11-04

Look, a king will reign in righteousness, and officials will rule with justice. A man will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land. The eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen attentively. The heart of the rash will understand knowledge, and the tongue of those who stammer will be quick to speak clearly. The fool will no longer be called noble, nor the scoundrel said to be generous. For the fool speaks folly, and his heart works iniquity, practicing godlessness and speaking error against the LORD, leaving the hungry empty and depriving the thirsty of drink. The scoundrel’s means are evil;
he devises schemes to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy plead a just cause.
But the noble man plans noble things, and on noble things he stands. Rise up, you women at ease, and hear my voice;
you confident daughters, listen to my words.
In a year and some days you confident ones will tremble, for the grape harvest will fail and the gathering will not come. Tremble, you women at ease;
shudder, you confident ones.
Strip yourselves bare and gird your waists.
They beat their breasts in mourning for the delightful fields, for the fruitful vine, for the land of my people, overgrown with thorns and briers, yes, for all the joyful houses of the jubilant city. For the palace will be abandoned, the bustling city deserted.
Ophel and the watchtower will become caves forever, a delight for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,
until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness will live in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness quietness and security forever. My people will live in a peaceful dwelling, in secure homes and tranquil resting places. It will hail when the forest falls, and the city will be utterly brought low. Blessed are you who sow beside all waters, who let the ox and the donkey roam free!
