Psalm 28

To you, LORD, I call;
my rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me.
If you remain silent toward me, I will become like those who go down to the pit. Hear my pleading when I cry to you for help, when I lift my hands toward your holy inner sanctuary. Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil, who speak peace to their neighbors while evil is in their hearts. Give to them according to their deeds and the evil of their actions;
give to them according to the work of their hands.
Repay them what they deserve. Because they pay no heed to the deeds of the LORD or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and not build them up. Blessed be the LORD, for he has heard my pleading! The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I was helped.
My heart exults, and with my song I thank him. The LORD is their strength;
he is the saving stronghold of his anointed. Save your people and bless your inheritance;
shepherd them and carry them forever.
